The first time these two met was no contest, Matt easily defeated George via arm bar. This surprised me since I thought for sure that George's BJJ was much better than Matts'.
So, what will happen the second time around?
1st round:
I give this one to George, he should easily out point Matt in the first round, let's face it he's a more talented fighter...however be careful in extrapolating this result to the entire fight. Matt has beaten a lot of fighters who seem to be more talented than he is.
2nd round:
I put this round dead even (assuming there wasnt' a lucky knockout of freak submission in the first round. Expect St Pierre to land a spinning back kick to the ribs here, He'll stun Matt, but then make a mistake by taking him to the ground.
3nd round:
Here's where I believe this fight will be decided. Who has more heart? Who's cardio is better? Who wants it more? This is where Matt has the decisive advantage and he "should" win it based on this round.
Prediction:
Matt by decision 2 rounds to 1. But, c'mon George, prove me wrong, I really am rooting for you. Besides, it's time Matt had his ass kicked.
Update...George St. Pierre does it...he defeats Matt Hughes by TKO with a left high kick. Congrats GSP!
George Certainly was more dominate against Trigg than Hughes was!
